I must learn to love the fool in me- the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries.

LIFE(PART I)

1. i like tea and you like coffee
2. i hate looking in the mirror but you could probably stare at yourself for ages
3. i have stage fright. you dont
4. they say you'll be famous one day whereas they say i'll end up in the loony bin
5. technology kind of scares me. you love facebook
6. i dont pronounce my R's. you do but its nice
7. i love to read.
8. you overthink everything
9. i wouldnt mind living off the dole as long as i was truly happy
10. you would leave if you could.

love always, raya

I want to find, I need to find, someone to run away with.

Don't know why you say goodbye I say hello

So, a proper post as promised!
I spent the last two nights at Samira's, we just chilled and ate pizza and saw a friend, it was nice just to relax in good company. Then on Saturday we went into town (Dublin city centre) to see some friends that i have not seen for far, far too long. Then we unexpectedly ran into some of our other friends who were handing out flyers for their band's upcoming gig, they're called Out Of Nowhere and you can check them out here, some seriously talented dudes! So anyway, Samira and I went along with them to help hand out flyers and hang out. It was great fun and we had been looking for something to do that night since i hadn't gone out in aaaaages and was pretty starved party-wise, so Raf told us to come along to this house party that was on later.
So eventually Samira and I get there but as it happened we all got kicked out within about 20 minutes of us getting there, so we all wandered around just having a laugh and ended up finishing our drink in the trees in a nearby estate, the classy way. Hahaha.
It was great fun altogether though, when you're with great people who cares if you're in a house or a bush? I haven't been feeling the best lately so i thought maybe going out wasn't such a good idea but I ended up having a really great time and hanging out with awesome people.
Then in true night out style we finished off with a trip to Tesco to buy some Rainbow Drops, Skittles, 7up and popcorn which we had for breakfast, of course.

Sorry there is no pictures to go with this post as of yet, they were all taken on Samira's camera and she forgot to bring her camera lead to my house, where we're staying now. I'll get some up soon though.

Peace and looooooove,
Aoife ♥

Aoife update

Midterm has finally arrived! I've been so busy all week that i've neglected to post for a while, so i do appologise. Today was our last day of school, such a relief. I'm at Samira's for the weekend, gonna see some friends and other mad stuff. Hopefully i'll be really busy all midterm, need to take my mind off things and just have fun. I'm being a cat for halloween. Raya and Benny finally both got back, i was rather lost without them. I have just soooo had enough of school, really needed a break. Anyway i'll post again soon this was just a quick update.

God is love, Rev Run Aoife.

there is a light that never goes out

Hello my dearests,
Raya the Rebel is back in School! Came back yesterday afternoon, getting dirty looks from all the teachers and curious ones from the students today. Sounds so much cooler when you say she got suspended for drinking tea.
Only 3 days till midterm break, i am so excited!
Going to fly home Friday morning and stay there for a week and be back for Halloween in Dublin. I really want to be a Bunny for Halloween, like the ones in Mean Girls. So everyone is goint to say: "You're a slut?!" and then I'll say:"I am a mouse, DUH!" Lovee, Benny

Hello everyone its raya on bennys laptop. i was supposed to blog yesterday but...well....yeah...sorry im making up for it now just like i promised myself! school's been weird since i came back all the looks off the teachers and everyone coming up to me asking what the suspension was for. i'm THE biggest reb at school at the moment. its the last week of school before midterm so everyones planning like mad for the holidays. i'm off to wales for a while so i'll just drown myself in tea and eat apple crumble, watch breakfast at tiffanys. (i love you audrey) oh and go charity shop shopping because the town where my mum lives is so small and there's no proper shops. im serious here. no proper clothes shops. (thankfully im pretty much always here in dublin) but it does force me to be creative and i find some great old people jumpers and granny bags and hats and blazers and old records and pretty jam jars and just great stuff!
for halloween im in a bit of dillema when it comes to costumes. im stuck between pikatchu and minnie mouse. i have the pickatchu suit already but i dont want to turn up with benny and aoife looking all sexy in their cat and bunny costumes and i'm there in a big yellow suit...
minnie mouse it is!

i think if you looked inside my head it would be like looking under the sea. everything just floats around. heres a bit of an insight as to whats going on in the depths of my mind

why do you just not bother; glitter; polka dots; which type of milk tastes best with yorkshire tea; tire swings; the mountain im going to climb when i get to wales; why i cant have a kettle as a boyfriend; how much i miss my cat Morrisey (after the amazing frontman of the smiths)  and finally how much i love the movie JUNO.
need to watch it. soon.

i hope you all have a great halloween and tryyyyy to be creative with your costumes. EVERYONE goes to primark and buys a load of fluro stuff.

love always, RAYA

Tsatziki and Calamari

So here i am, Benny, reporting from the absolute amazing holidays I had. Me and my family went to Crete for a week. It was amazing. We stayed in a beautiful hotel at the beach, and all I did was swimming in the sea, the pool, eating so much food and just relaxed. Of course we also saw bits of Crete, had two trips around the island and saw some archaelogical excavations because my family is like crazy about greek myths and all that stuff. Now i am back in cold Dublin, all alone in the boarding house, trying not to think about all the school stuff i missed, aargh. And because the Kettle was taken away from us I can't even enjoy the luxury of tea in our dorm. Russel, it is just not the same without you. That's all for now i will have a more detailed post later.

anti-social santa

So, my best best BEST friend in the whole world, who i only get to see once a week texts me, to ask what i'm doing this weekend, and i just don't want to text him back. I don't even know why, i'm just in one of those anti-social moods. Does this make me a horrible person?
It's 1.45 am here and i'm going to go to bed right after i post this and brush my teeth. That's actually really early for me. On weekends I usually stay up till 3 or 4. I like staying up late - can't stand going to bed early.  like the thought of being the only one awake in the house. It's kind of lonely but then comforting to know that there's sleeping people there too. Tomorrow i want to read, but i know i'll probably just end up internet-stalking all day. I swear i could actually just live in a wardrobe for the rest of my days and live my life through other people on the internet. Internet stalking is great fun. Raya and i sat up the other night and had a two hour chat about it.

Anyway just to make this post remotely relevant to anything, here is my current wish-list:
A Nirvana tshirt
A sheepskin and leather jacket, like this one from House Of Fraser

A black plain leather pair of Doc Martens, i already have a patent red pair and they are my babies.
A Barbour Bedale jacket.
Benny had one of these that belonged to her friend and OH MY GOD. It was love at first sight. They are just THE greatest things

PLEASE SANTA PLASE.

10 Reasons why a kettle is better than a boyfriend

We had a kettle called Russell. He was the apple of our eye, the cherry on our cake, the salt in our Tequila. However, he was cruelly ripped from our loving embrace by our housemistress.
We will be re-united one day, Russell.

I guess you never forget your first love...
Anyway, we compiled a list of reasons why a kettle is better than a boyfriend:

A kettle will never stand you up
A kettle will never change your plans last-minute
A kettle will never ditch you to go hang out with the guys
A kettle will never tell you you look fat in your favourite dress
A kettle won't flirt with your best friend
A kettle won't check out other girls when it thinks you're not looking
A kettle will make you lovely hot cups of tea and never complain about it
A kettle will always be there waiting for you when you get home
A kettle will keep you warm on cold nights
A kettle won't forget your birthday or anniversary

Well there's 10 we came up with, tell us if you have any more.
Russell is the only man we could ever truly rely on.
We love you Russell.
Always, Aoife ♥

im the only sour cherry on the fruit stand

Bonjour lovelies. It's raya reporting from her trusty blackberry at the ferry port in Dublin. Why am I here you may ask.. Well I keep asking that my myself considering I didn't do ANYTHING. Long story short, our oh so tolerant school has decided to suspend me due to me skipping p.e since the beggining of the year; so now I'm off to Wales to stay with my mum until Monday. Bad luck really has decended upon me since I'm goimg to get the biggest verbal bashing for this. On the bright side I'll be toasty warm on the other side of the pond in Wales with my new sherpa jacket Aoife blogged about earlier. I'm going to be shitting myself when the boat gets to wales and I have to face my mum. Argghhrhhh! Song of the day is: Sour Cherry by the kills to give me some courage. Well that and also any song by the Strokes.

Love always, Raya

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Today was Wednesday, and every Wednesday our school has a half day. So, as much as Raya and i would have loved to stay in the boarding house drinking tea, we had to conquer the vast outdoors and trek through the biting wind to our local shopping centre to stock up on Winter essentials!
Due to insufficient funds and lack of Mummy and Daddy's money to scruple, we ended up being very economical indeed and going to Primark.
Surprisingly, their Winter range actually has some really good pieces to keep you warm and toasty when a big cup of tea might not be at your disposal.

I am just mad about these Ushanka hat look-alikes. Sadly, i don't think i can pull them off as they make my head look like a cantelope.
I really like the print on the jumper and the over-the-knee socks are fab.

Sheepskin and leather jackets are just an essential this season if you ask me, i'd really love one myself (hint hint Raya and Benny) and the Primark one is really nice.
They also have a lovely selection of scarves, hats gloves and more but unfortunately i couldn't find any pictures.

The men's section also has nice hats, geometrical print headbands and the amazing Sherpa Shirt which Raya bought - it looks like a shirt but it's lined with fleece! So cozy!

I love that cardigan and i am a strong advocate of shopping in the men's section!

I've already got my eye on what i'd like for Christmas - a leopard print faux-fur coat like this one from Topshop would do me just fine thanks.

So if any of you are feeling generous or anything...
Haha, much love, Aoife ♥

a sunday smile

Hi my lovelies, it's Raya reporting from what's sure to be another interesting sunday from the boarding house. I think I can safely say that Aoife and Benny are by far the most interesting roomates to live with and we share a mutual love of tea.
My tea choice these past few weeks has been Yorkshire which is so lovely on a sunday morning when all you want to do is live underneath your bedcovers.

While Aoife and I are stuck here in rainy Ireland, Benny is on holiday with her family in Crete, getting a tan and sipping cocktails by the sea...tan is overrated anyway. I've been living off cheese toasties recently due to the lack of edible food here in the boarding house. I think I might just eat at least three a day. And a cup of tea (or two) with each!
I'm off to the seaside this afternoon with a friend so I'll put up some pictures when I get back; but until then I've been surfing http://www.modcloth.com/ (if you love all things quirky and retro check it out) and I'm thinking of ordering these beauts!

I'll probably end up spending all of this months allowence on this stuff but I can live with pot noodles and cheap tea until then if I can have these!

Love always..

We might die from medication but we sure killed all the pain

Hello everyone, it's Raya. As Aoife mentioned in her last post the weekend was a great one! Oktoberfest was absolutely amazing and we managed to get into the main tent nice and early so we missed the long lines and the ID checks. We ''raved it up'' and drank far too much but it was definatly a good'un.

We also stopped by a house party (Aoife put up that minging picture of me!) and that was so great aswell. We ended the night at tesco; where all good nights should end and stocked up on cheap chocolate and jelly snakes.

Incase you're wondering who we are, I'll explain. This blog is run by me and two other lovely ladies.

Aoife (pronounced ee-fah for those of you who are unfamiliar to irish vocab) who has the largest and lovely-ist collection of crazy grandad jumpers

Benny who's on holiday in Crete at the moment but will be back soon. Her heart has been stolen by a pair of vintage cowboy boots

And myself. Raya. (pronounced ray to rhyme with cry and ah. so cry-ah//ray-ah)

That's it for now my lovelies. Love always.

Audrey Kitching

Well call me a scene kid but i've basically had a huge girl-crush on Audrey Kitching since i was about 14 years old.

For those of you who weren't aware she ditched the whole scene-queen thing a long time ago, and she has really amazing style now.

I wanted me hair pink for the longest time because of her, but my school's a bitch so sadly no bubblegum hair for me ):

Her Buzznet blog is really interesting and she's always posting tons of interesting things and beautiful clothes and drop-dead gorgeous pictures of herself, click here to have a look.
So, when she's not busy being like, the hottest woman in the world she also has two clothing lines, Cocodecoeur and Tokyolux.
Here are some looks from her Tokyolux line:

I like all the crosses and the last two tops are my favourites, and the picture of the rose dress is just beautiful.
Personally though, I prefer her Cocodecoeur line and the photography in these first two pictures is amazing:

I really love that HELL YEAH one and I think the Somebody, somewhere is sick of your shit one is pure genius! Sorry I couldn't get the first two any bigger, But you can check them out for yourself on the Cocodecoeur site.
Audrey has been an idol of mine for years and is just amazing not to mention ridiculously gorgeous. As you can see in the second picture, she also has the cutest. Cat. Ever. Called Waffle.
Anyways, just thought i'd share some Audrey Appreciation (:
Peace out, Aoife ♥

We're young and in love, heart attacks waiting to happen

This is us at a party last weekend (the blonde third from the left is our friend Daisy). I look...i don't even know, but oh well. It was such a fun weekend, that night we went to Oktoberfest:

Me busting some moves.
Huge glasses of beer were a tenner but if you brought the glass back you got a fiver back, so we may or may not have stolen a few peoples' glasses and cashed them in...Raya turned out to be a bit of a pro at stealing peoples' beer aswell. At one point Benny took this woman's glass and when the woman realised she started freaking out so Raya and i just kind of ran away. It was an amazing atmosphere, there was a German band and everyone was dancing and shouting and just seemed to be having a great time. I wish every day was Oktoberfest!

They had this amaaazing Haribo stand but it was so expensive, Raya's bag came up to like 9 euro so she just left it there

Lack of Haribo sadness.

Such a great weekend, but I swear I haven't had a proper sleep since :P I'm so tired tonight so I think it's the past week catching up with me.

I love that one (':

Aaaaand finally, us with Samira.
I'm at home but i left my laptop along with my camera cable in school, so i promise we will post more interesting stuff during the week!
